Dear NLGJA Members and Convention Attendees,
NLGJA learned recently that the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero has changed its timeline and will be completing major renovations during our convention dates. To provide the best experience possible, NLGJA has changed the site of this year’s convention. I am pleased to announce the 2015 National Convention & LGBT Media Summit will be held in the nearby Westin St. Francis.
Here’s what you need to know about the change:
- The nightly rate for convention attendees will remain the same, just $189 per night, until the block sells out.
- Rooms are available on the NLGJA block at this discounted rate are available from September 2 check-in to September 6 checkout until 5pm Pacific August 14, or until the NLGJA block sells out, whichever comes first. Rooms reserved for other than for the NLGJA room block dates, after the deadline or once the block sells out, will only be available at market rates.
- If you have already made your reservation with the Hyatt, you will receive a reservation confirmation from the Westin St. Francis this week. Call our national office or email Bach@nlgja.org if you have questions.
Other than the shift to a new venue, we don’t expect any other big changes and some new opportunities have opened up to make our silver anniversary gathering all the more special. We have a great slate of training sessions, networking opportunities, 25th anniversary celebration activities and more planned for The Coming Home National Convention & LGBT Media Summit.
The Westin St. Francis is very excited to be hosting our event, and we are working very closely with them to make our 25th Anniversary Home coming more special than we could have ever imagined. Come home for the celebration. Come home for the network. Come home for NLGJA. Come home to San Francisco, September 3-6. Book your room now!
If you haven’t already registered, this is a great time to plan your trip to come home. As a member, convention registration is $355 (students for $180) until the advance registration rate deadline on July 31.
Please look for additional information that will be shared on our website in the coming days. And, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at Adam@nlgja.org or 202-588-9888.
Sincerely,
Adam Pawlus
