McLean, Va., May 12, 2014 — UNITY : Journalists for Diversity is pleased to announce the appointment of Roberto Quinones as its new executive director.
Building on a very successful diversity caucus recently held in Washington, D.C., UNITY continues to move forward toward a new focus and new leadership by appointing Quinones.
Quinones comes to UNITY with a career of operational and diversity leadership responsibilities across commercial and nonprofit organizations. “Roberto has been a passionate diversity advocate and practitioner throughout his career. The board and I are enthusiastically looking forward to working with Roberto to leverage best practices and develop UNITY’s direction towards advancing diversity in our newsrooms and industry,” said David Steinberg, UNITY president.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to help champion UNITY’s mission and work with our partners and supporters to expand our impact,” Quinones said.
