Arizona-based filmmaker Ann Cabano is currently producing “The Forgotten Boise 7,” a documentary about the dismissal of women from the Boise Police Department in 1977 for “suspected lesbianism.”
The evidence of this charge was acquired using a wiretap that was eventually ruled unlawful by a judge. The ensuing media frenzy, public outrage and their fight for justice were not enough to give them the only thing they truly wanted — a return to the work they loved.
Ann Cabano and her production team will join the Arizona and Arizona State University Chapters of NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists for a discussion about this important project.
