In Memoriam: NLGJA Mourns the Passing of Angela Cara Pancrazio
NLGJA News > News Releases > NLGJA Mourns the Passing of Angela Cara Panzrazio

It is with great sadness that NLGJA shares news of the passing of Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Angela Cara Pancrazio. She died Thursday, June 19 after a fight with cancer. Pancrazio's distinguished career included work at Portland 's Oregonian newspaper, the San Jose Mercury News, the Oakland Tribune and, for most of the past 10 years, The Arizona Republic. Referred to by Republic Editor and Vice President for News Randy Lovely as a "Renaissance' journalist," Pancrazio's equal facility with word and image made her the model of the contemporary journalist.

She is survived by her long-time partner Kim Williamson.
