Membership Announcement: NLGJA Announces Dues Increase

It has been more than ten years since NLGJA has increased its membership dues.  

In that time, the organization has grown to provide more opportunities and resources for its members. NLGJA members can now instantly connect with one another using our online membership directory and scroll career opportunities on our online job board. We offer several scholarship opportunities, internships and have expanded our convention offerings to include the popular LGBT Media Summit.

To keep pace with the evolving needs of our members and the rate of inflation since the last change, NLGJA will increase membership dues starting July 1, 2007.

Regardless of when your membership is scheduled to expire, all NLGJA members are invited to renew at the current rates up until June 30, 2007. To maximize your benefits, renew at the two-year rate and secure your membership at the current rate until 2009! 

There will be no increase made to the Lifetime Membership rate of $1200.

NLGJA's New Membership Rates (Effective July 1, 2007):

• Full/Basic Membership: $75.00
• Two Year Basic Membership: $135.00 (Save $15)
• Associate Membership: $75.00
• Two-Year Associate Membership: $135.00 (Save $15)
• Couples Membership: $135.00
• LGBT Media Membership: $45.00
• Student Membership: $25.00
• International Membership: $25.00
• Retiree Membership: $25.00
• Non-Profit Membership: $320.00
• Corporate Membership: $960.00

NLGJA also has special membership options for members with disabilities and those who make below a living wage. Please contact NLGJA's National Office at 202-588-9888, ext. 10 or membership@nlgja.org to learn more about these options. 

In conjunction with the dues increase, NLGJA is pleased to announce the establishment of a new fund to benefit the work occurring at the chapter level. Starting on July 1, 2007, $10 from every two-year membership and $100 from every Lifetime Membership will be placed into a special account to support chapter educational and outreach events. Guidelines regarding this fund and its administration will be made available in the coming months.
