Campaign Headquarters > Convention Assistance Fund

Campaigns bring people to the table, and so does NLGJA's National Convention. In addition to PowerPoints and panel discussions, our conference is about making connections and sharing experiences. And the more people that come to our table in Washington this August, the more we will all learn.

However, for some of our fellow members, the financial costs of joining us in DC are simply too great.

Some years ago, NLGJA created a member-funded program called the Convention Assistance Fund to address this issue, which disproportionally affects some of the most vital voices in our organization – students and smaller market journalists. Since then, nearly 100 members have received scholarships covering registration and travel expenses, and several hundred more have applied but were denied assistance due to budget limitations.

Tax-deductible contributions of whatever you can afford at this time can be made online in less than two minutes. Simply note "CAF" in the reason for giving field.

Even if you know you can't attend the convention, please consider helping a fellow member pay their way to Washington. A donation of just $10 by every NLGJA member would go a long way in making our convention more financially accessible for everyone.
